9/10...and what a sloppy mess my pasture is! Moved the fence around but it's still pretty gross in some areas. Thank goodness for Muck boots!! Chickens seem to be fine with this "mild" but messy weather for December in Albany!!

1 egg from 5 hens... i hate winter ;-; funny part is im pretty sure its the molting hen...

Haha it wouldn't be a Leghorn by chance? I have one going thru molt and she is the last of my 3 older girls, but she sporadically still lays an egg now & then.

14/24 today & it was a beautiful sunny day in Northern Michigan.

3/3 today! My BR's turned 8 months old today as well!One of them though appears to be having difficulty with laying an egg that isn't speckled. The other two are laying normal light brown eggs, the third lays eggs that are mottled with white streaks or dots!

12/23, bunch of slackers now, lol. Actually two days ago we ran out of our higher protein food, I was combining our layer feed at 17% and a bag of 20% protein. Will keep observing the rest of this week and if still a reduced number of eggs then I will combine a higher feed with our layer feed. Always continually tweeking the needs of the flock.

8 eggs from 15 laying hens.

1 momma with 7 six week olds (2 pullets, 5 cockerels)
4 16 week pullets, 3 16 week cockerels.
One alpha rooster.

Pretty steady egg numbers. Usually 8, sometimes 7, sometimes 9.
I'll take it.
