16/24 today, the girls were excited for us getting home after our night away.

Just 6 today. 1 of the 2 young chickens got killed today. I got home from work & saw that someone had left the fence to the "dog yard" open & the gate to the chicken yard was open. The dog was inside the house & the chicken was dead right by the gate leading out of the "dog yard". Of course it was the chicken that I think was female, the other young one that I think is male was safe in the chicken barn, which also had not been closed up for the night yet. I had gone to work straight from a Christmas brunch & the Hubby & daughter went home. I didn't get home until about 10:30 pm.

Well,that is to bad about your chicken and I would be real upset with the dog. I think when dogs are exposed to chickens they should get used to them. Thank goodness for my sweet neighbor dog. He is a bird dog and one day one of my chickens went over the fence and he just chased her a little. He was just excited. He didn't try to hurt her at all. I had a great Christmas gift. I got 10 eggs today. they all were in sinc. I have 13 chickens and 10 of them lay. Merry Christmas to me!

2/3 yesterday but my shy girl layed one this morning so I'm hoping for a 3 egg day.
