We received 5 inches of snow overnight so I'll be curious whether this slows their egg laying. We had a very warm last couple of weeks resulting in a brown December and with that, our four girls have been doing a great job laying. I'm on my way out now to let them out. They're in for a surprise.

Definitely. I have had them cool, and I have had them freshly laid when they are still warm. We clean them off, put them in a container, and put them in the refrigerator until we are ready to use them.I have a question......if the eggs were laid yesterday and the broody set on them until this morning...are they edible?
