How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Nope, not yet! I just got into the habit of adding Scout with a plus sign when I wasn't sure what she was yet, him or her! Then because so many people use, for example, 8/10/12, meaning eight eggs out of 10 layers out of 12 total hens, I just kept it there! Believe me, when Scout finally lays an egg I'll probably post about it in as many places as possible!! Silly little chicken has fans all over the world!

I noticed that you'd visited Scout's page and left a very nice comment. Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the story- I'd have rather read it than lived it but I've learned so much from taking care of her.
Oh, I thought I missed a post too. LOL

20/25/30

10 Brown
5 white
2 blue (one CCL pullet laid under the tree)
2 green
1 little pink Lulu egg, laid in her newly acquired "loft space" in the ducks house.

Lulu's little pink banty egg she laid, I took her other eggs and replaced them with fakes hoping they would help her return to this spot...and it worked!!!!

I see you Bridget Jones (Cream Legbar pullet) She left a perfect little blue egg here, despite the fact that she lives in a handsome hen house with 10 beautiful nesting boxes. Cream Legbars are sneaky about where they lay their eggs.
cool

7 today from 16 layers. The EE's actually outlaid the RIR & BSL today!
woohoo!

Naming them honey and dave. NN/frizzles.

sugar's new friends.

I got 4 after I had my DS dig out the coop door he buried last night while "drifting" four wheelers in the dark right next to the coop.

Why can't he think ahead?????

DH came across the "mean" hen laying her egg and about lost a finger.

LOL! She is usually very sweet and docile, except when she in the middle of laying. We keep her around because she is a good layer and shows a lot of potential as a broody. We can't let her hatch her own eggs though. She has a crooked tail which could signal bad genetics. At the moment she is our only brown egg layer so it is easy to spot her eggs.

2/4

I see you have Leghorns, 4 of them, and you got 4 white eggs.  I have 5 white Leghorns and get 5 white eggs a day.  Those are the go to, reliable, get breakfast in the frying pan girls aren't they?  I can always count on those hens!

Totally! they're almost two years old and I get at least three a day from them. they're amazing girls!
