14/23 my 5 new GSLs have been laying now for 2 mos. and this week they're all 5 working on a perfect egg a day record. We'll see what tomorrow brings.

I went on a 300 mile round trip yesterday to pickup some hens that were going to have a date with the butcher. So I ended up saving a Blue Marans hen and a Silver Lakenvelder hen. My friend got a trio of Black Marans, so between us we were able to save 5 of the chickens.

It was really dark last night when I got home, and all the girls were asleep so I wasn't able see how many eggs they all had laid for yesterday. So somehow I lost control of the count between today and yesterday.

I hope that tomorrow the count will be more accurate. I also found a pullet size egg in the run. It was really nasty dirty. I still brought it in and washed it up.

I suspect that Queenie may have hidden her egg, because she's missed 2 of the last 3 days. Or maybe the cooler/darker weather is finally catching up with us. We're only getting about 10 hours of daylight thesedays.
