How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

He is Mr. Handsome! What a good looking roo you have!

I understand your dilemma, I suffer from the chicken disease too. It's incurable.....I sold half my flock to Kendrain, and then acquired/hatched 16 more chicks, and have 32 more eggs in the incubator.....I'm not sure how this happened............

And when I picked them up I said I didn't want to mess with chicks right now. And I have 40 eggs in an incubator right now. Oh man.

3/5/6, goose still isn't laying from winter stoppage. Baby though keeps laying very thin shelled eggs or "rubber" eggs. I can't figure out why. They have oyster shell. now i've switched from gamebird crumbles to half layer/half game bird crumbles, it seemed to help for a week or so, now back to soft and rubber eggs. All the other girls eggs are great, very thick shell. She started laying in January, has not gotten it right since.

Count will be down for a while. Lost a RIR, BO, and CM to a fox this evening, right around sunset. I feel terrible.

I was inside researching how to protect chickens that are in pasture when I saw the fox trying to carry off the RIR. It ran away as soon as I ran out the door. Found the other two by following the trails of different colored feathers into the woods. Guess the answer is to be out there with them.
