2 so far from 3 hens. Two Buff Orps and One Barred Rock. Some days I get 1, some days I get 3. Wonder if that's normal? Or if I'm doing something wrong?

Just got my first incubator. I'm giving it a week to stabilize and I make sure the temp and humidity are right before setting a set of 10-12 birdies lol... Any idea how to boost the chances of getting cockerels? This will be our learning set for our tiny meat setup. We want to have meat set up incase of hurricane season getting ugly. One year our wild game feed the whole blood for week due to outages. This year we want to be ready. My deer meat stays mine lol...

If this is successful, we want to do a few turkeys next spring as well. Fresh turkey for thanksgiving. Lol

7/7 although i now have 3 pullets. when should i start counting them? the old girls , 15 months, seem to get bored on rainy days and hang out and lay, on sunny days i avg 5.
