How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

I've been waiting since we popped our chicks in the brooder in March to post on this thread!

3 yesterday and I just picked up #3 for today. The girls are just starting to lay!

I think a friend of ours said it best. Aren't they marvelous little creatures? You give them bugs, grasshoppers and table scraps and they give you delicious, fresh eggs in return! It's the perfect partnership!

Oh Happy Day! How cool is that? (Not to mention they'll give you soup, too, to make you well when you're sick.)

Love it! It never gets old! It's like Christmas every time you open the nesting box

I'm really proud of my girls. They have just started laying & in spite of the heat, 10/14 laid. It was 104 today. Fans, misters, frozen bottles in H20, all going to keep them cool. I also put a frozen bottle in one nesting box. My Columbian Wynadotte laid her 1st egg at 2:30 in the heat. She's the one I gave the water bottle to.

De worming time here, so no egg count for 3 weeks. Glad I kept all the production from last week to get us through this. Egg sandwich anyone?
