How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Not really a count post... Ok just for integrity, I got 14 yesterday lol

No but my question is one of sheer curiosity...

Anyone ever go out to gather eggs after the kids have been doing it, and find that you're missing a fake egg?

I broke 4 that I thought "might" have been it...nope.


I had to go transfer eggs by the dozen from my customers yesterday, sheepishly trying to explain WHY "there might be a fake egg in that carton, so can I just trade ya?"

It gets better... I went out to the coop in a search for the egg, after not finding it in 8 dozen eggs... My daughter had found it on the floor and put it up on TOP of the nesting boxes.

It was in the coop the whole time :p

Shortgrass, may I suggest you use ping pong balls instead? Just explain what they are for. if you get one who starts eating eggs switch them for golf balls. it hurts to peck them and they stop.
 


Here is the tiny egg compared to the extra large Penedesenca egg from a couple of days ago, 2 other eggs from today and a fun size mounds bar!
7 eggs today including a VERY small one. I'll post a pic later, got to try to cut some grass before it is totally dark!

3 today. Ghost and Orpi decided to take the day off. Ghost is loaded though so hopefully she'll lay in the morning, ok, that probably sounds weird, but I was petting her in the coop when I went to close it and she turned her butt at me so I felt her area.

I've been meaning to remove it completely but keep forgetting; they don't really need it anymore ;)

I felt really stupid; the dumb thing looks TOO real ha-ha :D
