How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

5/13 today....but that's not the good part! When I got home my husband had a surprise for me, he made me close my eyes until he put the egg basket in my hands and then backed away so he could take pictures!

Yeah! One of my EE's layed an egg! FINALLY! She laid it literally in the middle of the coop, nowhere near the nests, oh well. Hopefully she'll figure it out, but at least I have one nonbrown egg layer! Hopefully the other one will get the hint!

That's awesome!!!

It's just like getting a present! (Maybe even better)

Even though I get blue eggs, I still find it really neat! I had no idea that there was such a thing as a blue egg from a chicken prior to June...lol.

I had an attach last night and a 2 year old gander was killed and at first I was going to toss it as it could have been poisoned or some other problem but I started to skin it out and found many wounds and not from another gander but from I do believe was a bob cat and defiantly not a dog and these were deep claw marks with marks on the head holes in neck lacerations on left leg lungs full of hard black blood not a good sight but the un unseal part he was to be for Christmas dinner and I had him on the scale last week at 23 pounds ya he was a fatty alright ....

5/7 two days in a row. We lost a hen early this week. Not sure why she had looked a little down but I didn't think anything of it because I thought she was just fluffed out to keep warm. The last few mornings have been cold.
