How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

I went out early unplugged the one of 2 heat lamps, petted most my bards and the two reds as they don't let me clean or spread new shavings till I do. I am 4/13 as of right now but know I will have a few more later today. excitedly waiting for the burlap I orderedfor my birds.

What do you use the burlap for?

am going to wrap the inside of the coop, mine are geodesic of pvc so I will weave it to keep it warmer

I went to the VA Hospital for a sculled appointment and my brother watched the house wile I was gone so he did the feeding of the flock ....

Wednes I drove home in the rain and got home late in the evening ...

I found a total of 8 eggs

3 eggs from the control group

5 eggs from the free range chickens

Temp 56F degrees with light winds and a steady down pour all night and most of the day with a wind storm that ended it all and now if the water could dry up some before anymore as the sand just respells the moister and the water collects at the low spots where all the roads are and car driving is out and only trucks are allowed due to the depth of the flooding ..... But there is a good side no hawks or crows were out to steel chickens or eggs

I only have 3 so far this morning of 13 but then it seems with daylight they just don't care when they lay. I am trying to figure out with the coop covered by a huge tarp how to put a few windows in? they spend allot time in the coop because it is so large

Maybe switch out that front tarp for a poly/vinyl material.
