How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

2 eggs yesterday and every second day prior.
1 egg today. I'm going to take it as a thumbs up to the heater we put in yesterday...lol.
Will there be two eggs again tomorrow? Still like a Christmas present every time there's eggs!

I haven't fed layer since last summer. Half bag making a good roost for the Silkies.

Flock called a conference...demands are:
1) NO MORE chick starter/grower crumbles!! Only real grain.

Moving to 100% custom grain mixture with added flock minerals. Feeding 50% red prosso millet, 50% scratch at the moment.
-28 C at the moment with 81% humidity
-14.8 C in chicken coop

I feel for you with the weather. Ohio getting snow finally, not much but 40 mph winds as well. Yuck

I'm new to raising chickens and curious to know its been a little cooler here in Florida but not cold. Why is my egg production down 4/12. They are 7 months old and all are not laying yet and production is down! Any help

How much light are they getting? Short days slow egg production because their body recognises it might not be the right time to hatch chicks.

They get roughly 11-12 hours of daylight

For max production they say 14-16 hours. I just recently began to give mine supplemental light at 12-13 hours they began laying with a max of 3/6 but one girl is an august hatch(young) so maybe 3/5 is a more accurate representation.
I turn on the light at 4am and natural evening it is getting pretty dark here by 5pm.

12 eggs a day; 3 days in a row, today tho one of my Marans suddenly decided to pop an egg after winter hiatus. Freezing rain turned to snow in couple of hours - windy, never seen the flock huddled all inside the coop on day time.
