The pullets that hatched in June started to lay this week. Not sure how many of them are laying since I'm not up there to check them. So, got 10 eggs with 9 nearly year old pullets hatched the end of Feb. and the 4 June pullets.

4 eggs from the control group and two of them went into the incubator ..




1 egg from the free range chickens ,, ya the crows were hanging out to day ....




Temp 81F degrees with a drop down to 59F degrees in the middle of the night ...




My neighbor lost another chicken to varmints last night .......

Thanks, Gander. I am still battling lice with him. I just got the Neem oil in the mail yesterday. So last night he & his companion got another bath, this time using Neem Oil, Dawn dish soap & water. Then towel dried, followed by blow dyer. My family laughs at me. We have a foreign exchange student living with us for 10 months and she about died laughing the first time she saw me using the blow dryer on the rooster! But, you gotta do, what you gotta do. It's way too cold here to not make sure they are fully dry, even when they are quarantined to the house (which she also finds amazing.
It was sleeting this morning & has now changed over to just snow. Coming down pretty heavy. Predictions call for about 1 inch, but we are already there & the snow isn't suppose to stop until about 3 this afternoon, It's only 8:35 AM right now.
