What a great (but messy) hatch! I thought we had great weather today as it actually made it to 70, but you have us beat. You also have a better hatch than me. I got a total of 6 eggs that hatched. All of them are my friends eggs. 2 BCMs & 4 EE x ? from her backyard flock. Her 2 Araucanas did not hatch, nor did 2 other BCMs or 2 other from her back yard mix and none of the 4 of mine hatched. I will do eggtopsies in a day or 2, but I think my 4 were either infertile or very early quitters. I am glad that at least some of my friends eggs hatched! She is stopping by Easter evening to pick them up. My 2 year old Grandson was over today so he got to see them. I'll post pictures in a little bit.

Oh, and I got 17 eggs today! Which is good because I was actually down to just 1 egg left after getting ready for Easter!

Thank God the virus is gone and my jailed chicken learnt her lesson too. I returned her back after being held for 7 days in custody. No more egg breaking.
Eggs count: 29/37 and 6/10 for today.

Good to hear that is something I have not had to face
so far, my new pullets are 98 % Barreds, brought 3 EE
into the mix had the 11 left of the original 16 the 3 EE are
about a week older. tried the kids wading pool very
quickly found another use for chicken wire.
then added 3 more Barred pullets.

Are they free range? Getting enough protein (layer feeds)? How old? And what kind? Do they have mites/lice/worms? Length of daylight exposures? These are the factors that will explain the qty of eggs you get everyday.

My 15 hens are free range and I feed them alot. I only get 5 or 6 eggs. I would like to get more. I don't know how old they are.
