9 of 11 today. Hubby was ranting about work and I already want feeling well most of the day he just made my headache 100x worse. I'm just tired of it. I'd almost rather give up the dream of a small ranch and just make him quit then listen to it anymore... sorry just frustrated.

Ok so now I'm confusedoing about my chickens.

So black betty lays a large green eggs usually 1-2 days at a time of course she's molting right now and not laying. Betty also tend to be a bit heat sensitive and won't lay when it's hot. But that's not the point. Mid summer during a cool run into was getting 7 large green eggs a day in 2 very different shades I had started getting them off and on and thought my cocoa bean was laying as she had a big red comb (and I'm talking big). Zoey started laying giving me 1-2 green eggs a day total 1 large 1 small. Again still never saw cocoa bean lay, but she had the spacing the color everything looked right. When the heat picked back up I figured cocoa bean was heat sensitive too as all the large eggs stopped. I have 5 EE all lay green. The pasr 2 weeks I was getting 3 greens a day regularly, whiche to me just seems a little high for 3 girls but one was a medium sized probably zoey's and the others were small to extra small. Yesterday I got 4 green eggs my highest ever except 1 was med 1 small and 2 extra small. Ok that's odd maybe cocoa bean layed a weird egg? I caught cocoa bean in the nesting boxeso today and she layed another extra small egg.

Is it possible for them to go backwards in size for an extended period of time? Because I'm guessing she's been laying small eggs for at least 2 weeks. Or was betty really alternating colors? And laying nearly double her average? I mean sure both eggs were greenIshmael but one was more olive and the other more blue they were certainly 2 different shades. Thing is I can't remember Betty's egg color I thought hers where the blue and Cocoaches bean was the olive, but Cocoa beans have been blue. And zoey had an olive tint but not near as dark as the one I was getting and I saw her lay her first egg it was tiny. So I know the extras weren't from her and the other 2 are 5 weeks younger and went even close when I was getting the 2 different large eggs.

So either betty lays in 2 color variations or cocoa bean did start mid summer laying large eggs stopped for what ever reason and just picked up again 2 weeks ago with extra small eggs?

Idk neither option seems possible to me right now, but I don't have any unknownsuggestions that could lay and olive or blue egg. Though milder varies from a brown to a dark tan with brown speckles and Marshall lauds a light tan to a light tan with fewer dark speckles.

Am I going crazy. Is it possible for a 12+ month hen to go from and average of 1-2 up to 7+ in a row?

whew id be confused too. Is there any way your newer pullets could be laying?? I'm sure things vary throughout the year though and especially with your picky girls. Keep closer eye on them when you are able to if you can, it may answer some questions. Good luck
