depending on breed and age and other factors, it could be by end of the weekend or into next couple wks (our 1 buff Orpington has been doing squat for entire week-not eggs but 1 of the easter eggers squatted and the next couple days, she popped her 1st egg out (the kids say comet or whoever just popped an egg)I'm new and one of my pullets has been doing the submissive squat for about 10 days. I am so excited! When will I ever get an egg?!?
keep an eye where they are they may be laying eggs under a bushFree range for the most part.
very neat @chickaboom congratulationsWe have hens finally big enough to lay.Got one little blue tinged egg and are super stoked, its finally happening lol
thx. Even if they already started laying, they will skip days till their bodies kick in to lay eggs? Mind you, I've had golden comets lay almost every day since each one started (I actually believe the youngest GC is laying our mystery egg but haven't caught her yet). Thats why I'm curious@mamatink7
different breeds start different ages some of the same type
will be different in how they lay
