Chicken eggs 1 per day for the last three days ....





I cant get the Duck's nest but I see she is starting up another clutch .







Temp low 60's in the day time and in the mid 30's at night and very little wind for several days now .

Very interesting breed, never seen it, and it is IMPOSSIBLE to get them here, love their black and white scales on their shanks.

4/5 today,149 this month, 148 Nov, 154 Oct, 146 Sep, 118 Aug, 2 in Jul and 717 this year, from 9 month old pullets. Two started to lay at 4 months and all were laying by 4 1/2 months. All 5 are Golden Comets born on March 30. I brought them home March 31. I got them from a locally owned feed and garden for $3.99 each. Spent 5 million on coop, fence, feeders, waterers, broader, heat lamps, homemade heated base, thermo-cube, bedding, scratch grains, oyster shell, granite grit and feed. Well worth it for the flavorful eggs.
Seriously I estimate I spent around eleven hundred in all, minus about $100 in egg sales equals $16.74 a dozen. Not bad. And will get cheaper as I get about $6 a week for eggs, that is till I decide to build a bigger coop. GC

I wish I could get eggs, but the import of eggs is a Huge problem here.
That's if you are a private citizens but the agricultural ministry imported last year more then 70,000,000, eggs from Turky, and Ukraine without controlling them and some of the batches were infacted with salmonella!
And If I import 1 egg from a known breeder I could face prosecution. !
