Blonde ate a small frog today. Will see if it affects her like a toad. I don't think it will. Because toads secrete a poison from their skin. Will find out tomorrow. 4/5 today. GC

Blondie is fine today, after eating that small frog yesterday.
I was dragging some branches that I trimmed last evening while my girls were free ranging.
I noticed a frog hopping in the grass and my girls were near by I called for them and Blondie got there first I pointed out that frog and she quickly caught it. She pecked at it and the other girls showed up. So it was keep away for a few minutes. When she was clear she pecked it several times to make sure it was dead. Then she swallowed it.
No ill effects at 9 a.m. this morning.
Got 4 good eggs this morning and 1 soft shell, broken in nest box. GC

2/3 yesterday. Rosie is a little slow coming on line. She'll figure it out. The other 2 are every day like clockwork. I track them with an 18 Ct container. Each column represents a day. 6 days to a container, unless I eat as I go.

We had our first 2 egg day yesterday...... Fairly certain Myrtle, speckled Sussex 20 weeks tomorrow, is our newest layer.

Funny story, though, night before I came home to a very excited FIL & DH who informed me "we got THREE eggs today!" This was especially puzzling to me because I had gathered the egg from Doris (to that point our only layer who started almost two weeks ago) while I was home at lunch time and there sent 4 birds in the flock looking near laying well it all made sense when I walked into the kitchen and saw my three dummy eggs in the basket FIL was so excited i didn't have the heart to say anything, but later I told dh and his response was "well, they did feel a little light"
