5/6 yesterday and 2 so far today from the rir girls

View attachment 1112883 These are today's and yesterday's. when I got home there were 6 more, so 43 eggs in 2 days. My pullets are about 6 months old, different breeds. Love my girls but they need to slow down lol! I've been giving eggs away left and right just to be able to put my groceries in the fridge! Do you have to have any permission or a license of some sort to sell eggs?
My 3 hens are keeping up with my needs. Just 2 or 3 more would be enough to keep me in eggs make sure I can pay off my neighbors in "egg bribes" for putting up with my chickens' noise.

Is the RIR the big egg? My RIR lays bigger eggs than my Barred Rock or Easter Egger, unless they lay a double yolker. That happens about once/week.

3/3 last night.

They are both rir eggs and sometimes even bigger

They a farm/ aagucultral product and most places no. I'm sure at some point you have to become a corp but not selling a few dozen. I have a couple stores that buy the ones I don't give away, I only ask 2 dollars a dozen from the stores, To me its more of a pain then its worth. But this is my 8 year old grand daughters job. and the things she is learning are invaluable .:D

5/6 from the older girls. 5 pullets laid today-a new Welsummer, a Light Sussex and 3 Americaunas. We'll be in the same coop as Chickenmommy soon. Our friends and family are starting to turn down eggs and they are piling up. I might check with our little neighborhood store to see if they could use a few eggs at some point. It seems all of our chicken obsessed neighbors are unloading eggs as well. I saw white eggs in Kroger the other day for 99 cents for a carton of 18, brown eggs were a lofty $1.79.

3/5 today. Days are noticeably shorter. Everyone is in the coop at least 30 minutes earlier than in June. So far we've managed to use most of our eggs ourselves other than a few dozen here and there. Thinking about freezing some for use during the holidays. Anyone else do that?
