How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

I find the egg color interesting. My olive eggs are blue inside.

Well, I will admit when I was making chicken salad last night ( with 3 hard boiled eggs in it) I paid closer attention to the color of the inside of the egg. The brown eggs were white inside but the blue/green eggs did have a bluish/green tint inside. So, I stand ( well, sit) corrected. The chicken salad turned out fabulous, by the way!

Only 7 eggs today. The coop that recently suffered the coon attack, gave me no eggs. The barred rock that lives with the turkeys, has been hiding her eggs (in the woods somewhere, would be my guess) or she hasn't laid any for 2 + weeks. So, just got eggs from the "big barn".

8 hens.. 3 eggs in the coop and 2 hidden in the fire pit.. always looking for hiding spots..

Six weeks after the first egg, three weeks after a (almost) regular 3 eggs each day. I got 4/5 today!

I got an even dozen today from 23 hens of laying age. (and I'm excited because that's more than I've been getting). Time to start culling some of the flock. Especially before they really slow down for winter.
