Sounds like they do not like the nest boxes @gimmie birdies. What are you using?

Grumpy broody hens in a nest box keeps the young ones out, plus they decided to use the proper nest box once I discovered their "secret" area. Hens like to be clever. Also the area they were "sneak laying" had a lot of loose hay which I raked up.

Unless your broody hens are incubating eggs, I would break them. You don't want them wasting away for no purpose and hogging the boxes the working girls should be using.

And if they ARE incubating eggs, consider setting up a brooder area in the coop and see if you can move them there.

2, both Trill and Yue. Yue's shell was solid today

3/5 today. The third egg from my new layer. I think it's the cuckoo marans, but it might be the black australorp.

Just 1 i think the delaware laid it. I saw two more go in the nest box, guess they just had gas.

I THINK CMs lay darker eggs that BAs. My BAs lay a light to medium brown egg.
