That is big! 9 yesterday.

If it is the same hen I think it is she was giving me double yokers when she first came to lay and the biggest was well over 100g (108 I think).

I didn't realise you had so many Marans in your flock! What colours do you have? I'm not sure what I have - only 2 of the eggs made it - sadly the others were the ones that got broken / dropped etc during incubation. I had i think 5 eggs to start and he said 2 were BCM and 3 were a mix so could be black (but not sure if that meant just black), blue or splash. One is blue and one is black but not sure if it will be coppered or not, I hope so!

1 so far this morning but a biggie (76g).

truth is tried so hard to find dark marans for a couple years then had a flood of them

22 Eggs Today, 2 are first time layer from Sapphire Gem group. 7 hatching eggs will go lockdown tomorrow.

8 eggs today. Butchered my big tom turkey. He weighed in at 28.6 pounds after butchering and cleaning.
Sorry to see him go, he was super friendly. But where we built that coop was a disaster! Couldn't keep it clean.

Can you see all 8 chicks in this picture? There are 2 black, 1 gray, 1 white, 1 reddish brown, 1 whitish with grey splotches and 2 that are a lightish brown.
Can you see the difference in sizes? The white one was the first chick and the light brown one in front of the black one at the front of the picture was the last chick. I think there is 3 weeks age difference between them!
They are all being taken care of by the same Momma hen.

My girls just began laying in the last two weeks. I got four eggs from 14 hens today. They are peewee to small in size. I hope they increase in size.
