How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

3 today and another new layer :wee:ya:weeWhat do you guys think though - I originally thought it must be my Marans but actually if it is I'm a bit gutted as it doesn't seem very dark :hit:hit:hitThe paler is from another new layer (I'm thinking my Faverolles) and the other from one of my hybrid layers:

Was it someone on this thread that suggested putting a little piece of wood to stop my plastic tub I have as a nesting box (at the moment) from tipping? If it was thank you - I've done it and it is fabulous and works really well!

It even twists up to make it easy! Double bonus was a pre drilled piece from the Ikea futons that the rest of the coop is made of :lau

When I had dark chocolate egg layers ( Black Penedesencas) the color of their eggs usually got darker as time went on. Then as they got older (or maybe it was near molt? I don't really remember anymore) the egg color would get lighter. Then sometimes it would get darker again.

Tsk tsk Poule! As a British subject, I would think you would be aware that New Brunswick is a province in CANADA!! :p
:confused::lau:lau Oops didn't even get the country right :lau:lau:lau Silly Aussie! How embarrasing :plbb:plbb!!! I think I just saw the CA and was trying to work that out.
And the one way drive is about 580 miles or 932 km. About 10.5 hours not including stops. We stopped in Augusta, Maine, USA ;) (capital of the state) on the way to Sackville, New Brunswick, Canada where the school is located. We had dinner with a BYC friend in Augusta Thursday night. Stopped in Bangor, Maine on the way back last night. We were supposed to have dinner with a BYC friend in Bangor but she was sick.
Wow that is one heck of a road trip! Thanks for the geography lesson - I feel like I'm learning more about the states in the last year or so than I've ever learnt in the last 40 odd years :lau! That is so cool that you caught up with some BYC friends (I wonder if everyone does a massive coop / run clean if they know they have BYCers coming  :lau:lau)
been so busy with work, I got a new boss in my job. My 3 kids are growing like weeds barely seen my wife, I can’t hardly keep up with them lol. I wish my life is simplier and just raising live stock.
Wow it does sound busy :hugs I hope things settle down and you can give your poor wife, kids and yourself a bit more time (don't you worry about us :lol:).

Oh that makes me feel better! I had read about the paler as the season adn age goes on - I'll keep you updated if they change! The eggs I put in were pretty dark - 2nd or 3rd from the darkest on the scale so hoping they'll be good!

Not checked yet - a bit early at this time of year for them to have all laid!

Second time's the charm!

Wow that is one heck of a road trip!
Not as far as if New Brunswick was in California! That is a 3,000 mile (4830 km) 45 hour drive. You can bet if she was going to school there we wouldn't be driving her. DD2 went to school in Wisconsin (upper mid west USA, west side of Lake Michigan, north of Chicago). It was plenty far enough at 1,150 miles (1,850 km) and 20 hours excluding any stops. We did that one in 3 days out and 3 back.

Thanks everyone - they are still on the bench being admired!

WOW :eek:kind of starts making Australia look really small :lau:lau

That is a serious drive! I'm guessing that was just the once when she started then she'd fly home?
