How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

3 today

That is a serious drive! I'm guessing that was just the once when she started then she'd fly home?
Drove her out each fall and picked her up each spring. She was originally taking the train for breaks (travel was on her bank account) but I gave up on that and sprung for the difference between plane and train. Train only got her to 3 hours from here on the way back. Northbound train went through before the eastbound came in. That just got old spending 6 hours to go get her. Only 45 minutes to drop her off though because the southbound train got to Albany NY before the west bound left for Chicago. US train service sucks compared to European trains.

Wow lovely parents! It's funny I dont' think most people would drive that in Oz - probably fly it - over there our trains are also pretty bad. How much do you guys pay for fuel in the states? I know it is alot less than here. We were up to €1.57/litre of diesel (similar for petrol I think). It is back down to €1.33 after the 'yellow jackets' protests!

Too early for eggs yet!

Gas price in the USA is all over the map (so to speak). Some places are under $1.70/gallon. A lot of California (CA as opposed to CA Canada ;)) is well over $3/gal though some are just below that. Locally it is about $2.59. Found gas in Maine for $2.05/gal.

Gas in Canada was $1.01 CAD/litre. Diesel runs about $0.30/l higher. The CAD-USD exchange rate is not in their favor, 1 CAD is about USD 0.76 so a gallon at CAD 1.01 would be USD 2.87.

Your €1.33 is about USD 1.52 currently. That would be about USD 5.75/gallon.

Take that back - another Marans egg :celebrate:celebrateso dark and much more uniform than yesterdays - not sure if it is the same pullet or not (today on left):
