How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

It was a great egg day. We've had our flock for 1 month (10 hens and three roosters, two years old) and we were blessed with eight eggs today.

That is a great count for 2 year olds in winter! They must be happy at thier new house! Welcome to our thread!

Not been down this morning. Did I tell you I had 5 yesterday I think the last time that happened was early last spring when my 3 big girls had started laying and the 2 Silkies hadnt' yet started going broody for the summer . I also packed up an attractive mixed colour 6 box and took it to the neighbour across the road as a tester to let her know I now have enough eggs to sell. She seemed very keen so hopefully that will be the start of being able to sell a few eggs. If I can sell 3 dozen a week that will cover my feed and bedding bill pretty much so that is what I'd like to do and anything else is a bonus!

6 from the main coop 1 from Silky but have at least two of them broody again

9 eggs yesterday. One was hardly bigger than a wild bird egg (a whopping 13 grams!) and the biggest of the group weighed 79 grams.
We ended up with 8 to 9 inches of snow!! I opened the coops, but other than a young rooster going out and under the coop, everybody stayed inside! Including my husband and I! Well, I did go out for an hour or so and shovel about half of our driveway.

Today, I forgot that I had to go to my friend's daughter's girl scout meeting and teach 6 year old girls about planting and growing seeds. Luckily, my friend texted me early enough that I was able to go out and finish shoveling the driveway and dig out my car. It took my another hour and a half!!
No more accumulated snow today, just light flurries.
But, they did call off school for tomorrow!!
They are calling for another major storm next weekend. Supposedly, it will bring as much snow as we got this weekend, if not more. We'll see about that.

last couple day have sunny mild No snow here rarely is lot's of rain not snow drive half an hour play in the snow come home

they all count I have a customer I call the hippie loves banty eggs to pickle so have 4 silky to keep him in banty eggs also

I'm not knocking them Miss Penny, they are little but they are way better than the nothing that was going on.
I'm down to one pullet not laying yet the brahma is still peach faced but the SS and dominique started a few days apart.
Still got a couple older girls that haven't started back up from winter break and molting.

Sorry did not mean you did not like them kinda funny I use one myself almost daily
to make breakfast I will use bisquick but so little and I like the fluff so use a banty as regular would be overkill

I know Miss Penny, I didn't take it that way at all. I just type like I speak so my meaning gets jumbled sometimes.
I like them just fine, like you say they are great when you don't need a bunch of egg.
