Oh wow that is sooooo pretty! And cold! I can't imagine doing all the chicken chores in that sort of snow! The only time I've lived with that was while running a ski chalet in the Dolomites in Italy! Nasty! I have a steep bit on the way to my coop and I've fallen twice (or possibly 3 or 4) now properly and slipped a good few times more than that. Really should see about getting a step or two in there!Though a friend of mine slipped on ice and fell while taking water to the coop and broke his arm and shoulder.
I have a hen who almost ALWAYS lays on the coop floor, and she's almost 2 years old!Last night was cold out, 2*F, tonite will be -4*F Road was bad on the way to work. Schools called for snow day.
17 Eggs yesterday and 20 Today. Some were laid on the coop floor, not sure if my hens got disoriented with the cold or new layers just pop them out on the floor.
