We don’t refrigerate ours eggs neither, reason we want it out of our home ASAP. The dirty ones (very rare) we wash and refrigerate and get consumed right away.

Most of our friends pay us digitally (VENMO) and goes to a Master Card (chicken debit card) to only used for their feeds, beddings, treats, new chicks, coop repair, & egg cartons. So far the chickens pay for their coop rent too.

We got “force” to add layers every year since friends keep on pressuring us for eggs LOL. So far I’ve hatched 60 chicks last year and sold them for $15.00 each and kept some out of them.

Sound like you sell many more than we do though we sell to half a dozen most every now and then not always .. We are in a very small town very few folks

We also live in a small town with many backyard chicken owners. Four years ago we had a summer picnic and had 50+ guests. A few of them found out we had chickens thinking the coop was a green house/garden shed. I gave them a “tour” of the coop and schooled them on breeds of chicken and told them about health benefits of backyard eggs, 8 of those families became our weekly egg customers and their friends found out too. So the demand was actually bigger than I can supply, we randomly sell some to those on waiting lists when regulars can take them.

I sold 5 18 count cartons today for $5 a piece. I love the city folk haha.

You laughing at me fowl guy? LOL, I’m from a big city (city folk) moved to a small town just few years ago to raise kids.

My wife just came home from work today and told me her co worker wants 3 dozens tomorrow and I only have 22 eggs from today, i told her I can’t squeeze more eggs :thfrom my hens, but @$4.00/doz I charge? They should buy them from my neighbor @2.50/doz.
