How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

You laughing at me fowl guy? LOL, I’m from a big city (city folk) moved to a small town just few years ago to raise kids.

My wife just came home from work today and told me her co worker wants 3 dozens tomorrow and I only have 22 eggs from today, i told her I can’t squeeze more eggs :thfrom my hens, but @$4.00/doz I charge? They should buy them from my neighbor @2.50/doz.

It was more of a roosters cackle lol! I can’t believe how much I have to (local farmers market regulations) sell mine for in that city. Most don’t want to travel to my town 1 1/2 hours away to buy from me directly for cheaper. I only brought those 5 18 count with me because I wasn’t planning on setting up.

Ahhh I havn't got that many chooks yet! (OMG did I just say 'yet')
Oui!

See here we don't refrigerate eggs in Europe
I believe that in England it is illegal to wash them as well. Presumably the thought process is that the chicken farmers will keep the birds environment clean when they can't wash off evidence to the contrary. I very rarely have to wash an egg unless it was laid off the roost. I don't sell those. Unwashed eggs kept at room temperature will last several weeks. Of course they do slowly degrade. Won't be the AAA egg it was right after it was laid.

I sold 5 18 count cartons today for $5 a piece. I love the city folk haha.
I sold 3 dozen for $4/dozen to friends. When my girls aren't working hard enough they pay more than that at the store for "free range" eggs.

Do you blame them? Those would be some VERY expensive eggs after they pay for gas.

Way better than none seems I have 7 and one fake :gigBF saw egg brought them in he pottied dogs closing the pop door normally my job
Shoot I did that yesterday was on the last look for eggs in the afternoon and was fishing for eggs under a Marans hen I New there was a dummy egg under there I felt 3 and grabbed 2 didn’t notice till I was in the house dummy grabbed the dummy. I put it back at lock down in the evening and collected the real one. Ended up with 35 eggs today plus’s the frozen and the dropped eggs, pretty good for being cold. Looks like we will be in the single digits for temps in a few days.

We have thawed quite bit no snow or anything here now ran out to feed store in Onalaska
we go to nothing on the roads I will take the egg back back out when I go to close them I have brought one in before so has the kid

Shhhhhh:oops::oops:

Yeah they dont' get washed here either, even the ones with poo I don't wash until I'm ready to use - that is what is recommended as once you have washed them the bloom is gone and you are inviting in the bacteria!! I was trying to be a bit organised last night and getting through some of the older eggs for dinner - some were 3 weeks and fine - but almost everyones yolk broke! Maybe I should hardboil them all - they are good for that I think.

Not been down yet. I've run out of food for them and can't go to town until lunch time (I'm teaching English this morning). They would have had a small amount left. Should I give them some birdseed, or oats or porridge or will they be OK for a few hours?
