How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

39 Eggs Today, seems like my poison ivy are laying eggs too  the arms are all healed and suddenly they all appeared on my abs and legs:th
Oh, bummer!! Sorry to hear that. I wonder you you got re-exposed? Did you pick up laundry to carry to the washing machine? Do you have a dog or cat that could have gotten the oils on them and then "shared" with you when you petted them? Did you wear a jacket when you first got exposed and then wore it again later without it getting washed first?
I have also read about the rash appearing up to a week after exposure. :idunno So, who knows. Hopefully it will dry up and go away quickly!

13 eggs today and the lousy broody finally gave up today.

Edited to say: I am feeling much better today!! Managed to stay at work all day today. I guess it was just a 3 day thing.

Sorry you have been unwell @karenerwin hope you are feeling better soon.

Eggciting news :jumpy:jumpy:jumpyI managed to hatch all 5 of my eggs in the oven :jumpy:jumpy:jumpyand snuck the first 3 under Doris the Slightly Dim Silkie Friday night and the following 2 Saturday night - she accepted them without batting an eyelid (potentially the most placid / docile chicken ever born!). So now have 2 silkie x and 4 araucana x chicks :love:love

Been getting 8 most days. Gosh I'm pleased with my Marans - seems hardly a day where there isn't 2 gorgeous brown eggs waiting for me!

Congratulations!!! All 5 of them! :love
You'll need to post some pictures soon!

33 eggs the last few days. I've been culling birds and so far have only butchered freeloaders. Amazing. I had another hen guarding a box yesterday, so now I potentially have four broody mamas. My daughter took the eggs away from the new girl, but I'm worried about what I'm going to find when I get back from vacation next week.. We leave this weekend and my 19yo son is in charge. I doubt he will check for the extra eggs under the broody hens or discourage sitting by new girls while I'm gone. I told my husband they will probably all be hoarding 30 eggs under them by the time I get home. Can't wait.

Ah heck came out at my first 12 even dozen! enjoy the trip we have a our adult son that is also able to take care of them but has his limitations that way custom pop.jpg

It must be broody season. Angel is hanging in the community box, tight on her plastic eggs and any egg another girl lays nearby. Fortunately she isn't one of those velociraptor girls, I can pick her up and retrieve the real eggs. And Betty has decided she wants to be broody again. I put her in the buster. If Angel sticks it out for a week I'm going to order more chicks and hope to stuff them under her. I got 6 last spring but 2 were taken by predators (assumed) and one just up and died a couple of months ago. That means that half of my replacements for the 7 year old girls (Persephone is still laying reliably) aren't around any more.

9 today, none from the broodies.

We have a dog that love to sit his head on my lap when I’m sitting on the couch, that could be it. I’m glad your feeling good. I called off today, since I was so exhausted not able to sleep cause of poison ivy.

42 Eggs Today, speaking of broodies, the broody sitting on 9 eggs hatched a chick yesterday that was accidentally killed by another hen wanting to lay eggs. I didn’t separate her and her eggs soon enough (day 20) since I was so busy. Tonight in the dark, I went to check on her and the 8 remaining eggs, seems like another one hatched and fluffed and more pipping, so I left her be.
I’m still not decided if I will give the 2nd broody some eggs to sit on, the 3rd one I need to break the broodiness.
