How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

8 today. At least there wasn’t any soft eggs today.

Finally got to set up the test micro green small grow bowls. Trying broccoli, radish, mustard greens and green peas. Also started the next trays of wheat grass and lentils. I tried to sprout scratch a week ago but after a few days it smelled like vomit. Yuck.

I started the day with an egg well well before sunrise, somebody made a trip to the nesting box in the dark. I couldn't see who it was but it's the biggest, darkest brown egg in the basket, which is odd because Nuggets eggs are usually the darkest but are always small. The other possibility is Penelope, her eggs are often larger, but light brown. Total for the day remains to be seen.

What breeds do you have @Dave TBG ?
One each, White Leghorn, RIR, Black Star and ISA Brown. In the above post, Nugget is the RIR, Penelope is the ISA Brown. My wife mentioned that she'd seen Nugget in a nesting box and found a small brown egg a little while later and that we also had a white egg.
They are all 5 1/2 to 6 months old, the RIR and Leghorn are pretty steady layers, the other 2 are still a little less regular. I saw the egg this morning on the camera and one of the girls was on the floor in front of the box, I couldn't tell which one because my view was blocked by my Leghorn and Black Star. Penelope's eggs are usually about the same color as Nugget's or maybe a little lighter. Maybe they're getting darker as she matures?

I got 8 yesterday I think. I forgot to enter it into the log. I’m only getting 2 out of the 4 leghorns but I haven’t had a soft egg in several days. Is that progress? Less eggs but better ones? Overall they seems to be eating more. Maybe the slightly cooler weather is helping that. Still very warm and muggy as hades though. Got some rain overnight and into this morning. We need it.

Went to a new to me store yesterday. Good prices of veggies so I bought a ton. Will
Spend a lot of time today processing. Hens will be happy with the trimmings! Bought a big bunch of collard greens for the first time. That stuff is like leather! How does anyone eat it?! I got it for the hens anyway. Put some in the suet feeder to see how they like it.
