How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

We got 15 yesterday out of 18 layers. And a roo. But we don't normally get an egg from him!

Got 5 yesterday . Today they aren't done laying yet . One of my red stars is still laying a softie every night mostly on the poop board but once in the nest box , don't know whats going on with her but its been almost a week of this now .

I'm getting 2-5 eggs. Autumn/fall here so unless my almost 7 month old pullets surprise my I don't think I'll see many for a while

Hopefully the girls will kick in. When I figured I could beat the fall lag with new chicks 2 months earlier than I had been getting them the littles started laying then quit for the winter. I went back to early June chicks last year and all of them laid through this past winter.

With only 5 batches of chicks I can't say it is a scientific test but seems like having them start to lay a month or so before the start of calendar winter has worked for me. Having the 2 batches start 2 months earlier was a bust.

My girls laid their average of 10 today. AND, I caught my free loading EE scoping out the nest boxes today. That’s a step in the right direction, I guess.

14 eggs today including 1 I put my thumb through. Yes, they have free choice oyster shell available 24/7. They just “choose “ not to eat it.
I checked the incubator when I got home today. I saw 1 egg with an external pip! So fingers crossed, I will get at least 1 more chick!!
