I think your number isn't going to change until August. And the cockerel isn't going to lay any so don't expect more than 4 a day max


Wait, they can get in the scratch container and didn't eat all the scratch? I guarantee if my girls could get in, there would be nothing left.

My hens can really take it or leave it. I wasn’t shocked at all. I guess they are all different. Don’t get me wrong, my girls like chops but not to the point of gorging on it. I can throw it out and they actually share with the squirrels that are brave enough to go in the run. Crazy chickens...

5 for 6 today. Only 4 usable though. One had a hole in it which is quite curious. I have 1 ceramic egg in each nest so they will spread out. Otherwise, they all pile up in nest #1. The fake eggs fool them into using nests 2, 3, and 4. I wonder if it popped out hit the fake egg just right and broke???

My understanding is it’s pretty rare to keep them around long enough to lay without health problems. That’s pretty cool

49 eggs today and I have three ladies wanting to go broody again. Why is it that when I want a broody, nobody is interested. But when I don't want a broody, even one of my roosters wants to set eggs
