I’ve got to stop bragging. As soon as I say no broody hen, one tries to go broody. I got 6 of 6 today but good ole number 5, Turk, is acting broody and I had to remove her from the nest and put her on the roost at bedtime. Chicken life!

11 out of 22 yesterday. I found one Wellie egg in the run so I may have a 4th Wellie laying now.

1. My cali white who is 20 weeks now, has laid one every morning for the last couple weeks.

My other girls, same ages (barred rocks, sex links) have yet to lay an egg. Two of them have waddles and combs like a damn rooster. I know they are close!

I have ten *almost* 18 week old production reds, 6 of which have large fleshy red combs and waddles and are squatting like crazy. The other four are getting there but are lagging behind a bit.

I have gone back to work now from a COVID lay off but my husband is still home so he checks occasionally throughout the day. I am frustrated because since I'm not home and he won't watch them obsessively like I do (LOL) I don't know for sure who is laying the few (two or three) I'm getting each day, though I have a pretty good idea which ones based on my vent inspections and whatnot. I've explained to him that knowing what time and who are laying is important so I can keep track and monitor for any problems, but he just thinks I'm nuts! Lol I'm currently lobbying for a chicken cam in the coop!
