Leaving one egg? I'm not very familiar with their habits to be honest. This year we had a peahen slowly lay 6 eggs against the workshop (covered slightly) and then never sit them? I dunno. It was weird. We have fences but it doesnt stop the peafowl from doing whatever the want. Some of our neighbors complain but most have just accepted it. Weve been a farm for much longer than the subdivision has existed so we get some leeway. Animal control came by one time about a loose peacock & we said they could absolutely take it if they could catch itOur neighbors used to have peafowl. We don't have fences and they used to come quite far up the hill onto our property and lay an egg now and then! I never tried to eat one, as I had no idea how long it had laid there. It was always a single egg and it was just out on bare land, sitting in plain sight. I've never had peafowl, just guinea fowl so I don't know if this was normal. They have since moved away.
