How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

20 today and 1 duck egg. The flooding rains aren’t helping!

3, which makes it a good day. I think I've only had 8 eggs in the past week, from the 5 hens still bothering to show up at all. 3 have been on vacation since fall, and 6 x 4-month-olds that I assume won't start until spring (and I soooo want to know what color they'll lay!). I've been putting off lighting this year, but things are getting desperate

I only have one pullet laying i am waiting on the other one to start but she should start soon

While your numbers are way down from summertime, 29 is still a lot of eggs. Did you end up having so many chickens because you introduced new pullets every year to combat lower production from molting and colder months? I’m thinking of doing just that and was curious how you got to this point. A little story time if you don’t mind? Please

Wooohoooo! I got an even dozen today from 20 girls,( a veeeerrrry rare occurrence from these slackers) and my leghorn FINALLY restarted after about a 3 month break! - I though leghorns were supposed to be laying machines, mine must be broken

I blame my local feed store for about half of my chickens. The guy who runs the chick department is a friend of mine, and he knew what breeds I had. For the past two years he's gone out of his way to get breeds of chicks that would tempt me into buying them...... it worked
