8 eggs from 11 chickens. Three of them are getting over being broody. The last new layer today, a blue laced red Wyandotte who laid an egg about the size of the silkie eggs (34 g).

Thanks, yes, spring will come. And then I'll get to finally find out what color fall's babies lay

I suppose I may as well let them take the winter off. If I light them now, it'll probably take until spring to kick in anyway.
