Yesterday was 8 getting one every day from the new birds

10 eggs today. We lost one of our new baby chicks this morning. I made a bad decision to leave their heat off while we were gone. It was extremely hot but cooled off due to rain. When they gathered up to stay warm the little one was crushed and smothered in the corner. I made every effort. It lived through the night but died this morning. I know now to just leave the heat on. They can get far enough away from the lamp to be ok.
