Thanks! I wake up so excited to see what the day will bring!

Next year (well…it’s almost THIS year!) we want to get a white egg layer and a dark brown layer. Any suggestions? The dark one there I think came from the Wyandotte…but didn’t catch her laying so she might have just been nosy after someone laid. One of these days im gonna wake up early & spend the morning out there on my stool with my coffee!

I have the Leghorns for white eggs and the maran for my dark brown egg. I won't get Leghorns again without tripling my run space. They are huge foragers and dig the fence line. They just don't make it easy. My maran is so lovable. In the middle of the flock always minds her own business. Leghorns lay 6 days a week and my Maran lays every other day.

She doesn't like Leghorns? How about an Ancona or Minorca? They lay white eggs too.
