How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

I collected one earlier today. That makes two now. I looked at the last egg that I collected and it was October 21 this year. The ladies molted in July. Looks like our welsummer girl or our australorp/welsummer mix is the one laying.

I got one today. The good news is that it was a pullet that had gone broody (with cold temps and snow outside ) but broke pretty easily. It’s been a little over two weeks since she stopped laying and I was thinking she wouldn’t start up until days are longer but she’s back at it!

It’s ok. We still haven’t had to buy eggs at the store this winter. That’s pretty awesome! January brings longer days, more eggs and new layers!
