How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

We got 10 eggs today. Two were from my OG hens (there are 11 of them) and 8 from my 12 pullets. I don't think I'm going to feel bad about culling 8 of the OG girls later this spring so I can order a new batch of pullets.

It feels like every day we're getting an increase! I took another dozen over to a friend’s house, but I’ve still got over 3 dozen on my counters. A record setting six eggs today, but one was smashed. It didn’t feel soft, but was inside the mini coop and maybe dropped while they were roosting? Two others were laid in the mini coop today as well, so I’ve refreshed the shavings and might find a way to block off the rafters so it isn’t so full of poop

Are your hens old?

Nope most of mine are young only going on one or two i have a few that are 3 but not worried about those laying its the ones hatched last year thats not laying when they should be i need those for hatching lol

I bet they'll pick up as the days get longer.

Yet another increase! 7 today, I think there’s a potential 8 pullets that are laying out of 19 (youngest being about 18 weeks). They even kept everything in the nests today!
