How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

But if your luck is like mine... the day you stop checking they'll start laying again. 🤔
That is how it works! Whenever I dare to throw away something that hubby has left laying around for, lets say 10 years? That is when he suddenly needs that one thing. I do not know how he does it!

I only got two eggs yesterday, I am down to eating oatmeal for breakfast.

I got 2 again today. I think 2 is my new normal number.

1. Just like I've gotten pretty much every day for last 4 weeks. From my prize hen who laid early and lays every day except for 3 days of last 28. So I've gotten 25 eggs from one hen in last 4 weeks, which if others are even close to that when they start laying I'll be flush with eggs. At least I've figured out my other two are not laying. I bought three pullets in early June and they're my first chickens so eggs are exciting and I'm learning new things every day. Eggs are getting bigger every day, looking fairly normal sized now. I finally figured out only one was laying from being home last three days and checking coop and she's on the egg nest every day around 10. She's the one that looks like the obvious layer. She's the one front and center in the picture. The back right looks close and was wondering if she was laying but isn't, the back left still looks like she has a bit.

I so love a nice barred rock 😊 I call them tabbidy cat zebra birds 😊💕

Still no eggs. 4 hens desperately squeezed into 2 nest boxes tonight to keep warm. I hope they get some decent feathers soon, then i can teach them to roost on the roost again.
I have one in a heavy moult right now poor thing. I have an insulated Hen House, but still it’s chilly in there - I am below freezing at night now, so I have been closing the door almost shut at night to try to keep it warm for the bald ladies.

Sheesh! What a time to moult!
