How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

At 8:30AM I gathered another 7 eggs from my seven girls. All nice and clean, too!

Four again today. But the greatest thing is…there was a new dark speckled egg (guessing from the BYM, what an awesome surprise!), and a new light brown egg (the lavender Orpington was in the box this morning shuffling around so I’m guessing it was her. So 3 new layers since yesterday, with some cool colors! Will have to watch for sure this weekend to see who the speckled is from, but we didn’t order any dark layers so that is my conclusion, unless the olive egger is laying speckled brown and the BYM is laying green, lol.

Today I got a whopping 16 eggs! Mum shoved one in her pocket and we all know what happened there hahaha!

This likely means all my new pullets are laying and 3 of my older ladies.

What do you do with all those eggs, then? Nine girls should've put out a LOT before dark days slowed them down...?

2 today, one was dropped from the roost onto the frozen pile of dropping and broke. Made me think it was time to stir the shavings and add a layer.

Brrrr!!! Maybe she was too comfy & warm up there with her flock mates to hop down and go to a nest box? "Oh, bother, it's cold; I'll just drop it from up here!"

They surprised me with SIX today! The 3 "rainbow girls" and 3 browns - one had the Delaware's white downy feather stuck to it, so that's Jill's. Hope I can memorize its shade of brown so I can recognize hers later...
