4 again yesterday! Found a blue one under the coop…maybe got knocked out of the pop door? Very odd…

Actually…it was FIVE! Found a new olive egg in the nest box this morning, didn’t check last night at dark!

At 8:30AM I gathered another 7 eggs from my seven girls. All nice and clean, too!

3 again! Everyone’s schedule got thrown off by the cold weather (18° this morning), but I did end up with all three girls laying. My Welsummer has been louder lately, so I’m hoping she’ll give me her first egg as a Christmas gift.

Our weather is nuts! Upper 50s for the last week…temps down near 20 last night and high barely 40 today and my Golden Comet girls throw their hands in the air like they just don’t care! 2 eggs a day…once a week I get three, although one is thin shelled and even more rarely I only get one egg.

For the second time only 1 egg out of 9. Still no sign of a greenish blue egg from our EE girl. I kinda miss it in the sea of brown shades lol I guess I should soon be expecting 0 soon some days up to 4 but more often than not its been 2 lol. The last time my mom was getting food she said there was some guy that asked how many eggs were getting and she told him its dropping slowly and he said adding a light into their coop, including pellet form food and slowly taking them off the crumble will improve the egg production. Nothings probably gonna change as we don't eat their eggs. Probably gonna look into selling their eggs or hatching and selling chicks next year.

Four again today. But the greatest thing is…there was a new dark speckled egg (guessing from the BYM, what an awesome surprise!), and a new light brown egg (the lavender Orpington was in the box this morning shuffling around so I’m guessing it was her. So 3 new layers since yesterday, with some cool colors! Will have to watch for sure this weekend to see who the speckled is from, but we didn’t order any dark layers so that is my conclusion, unless the olive egger is laying speckled brown and the BYM is laying green, lol.

2 today, one was dropped from the roost onto the frozen pile of dropping and broke. Made me think it was time to stir the shavings and add a layer.

9 today out of 20 hens 4 molted this late fall and these short days and there age is effecting them I don’t expect much from them anymore. I never use a light in the winter months I give my hens a break in the winter they deserve it they work so hard the rest of the year.
