4 today! What sweet girls!

I noticed yesterday that Août seemed to be scoping out some new nesting spots while foraging. Today she nearly laid one in a drift of leaves behind a big sycamore. All I could see was her little floppy comb just above the leaf line as she nestled in. I scooped her up and put her in the run while the others kept foraging, and though she was a bit indignant, she did get the message and laid her egg in the normal spot.

Mei has finally learned the joys of laying in the nest box! I’m so proud! No more “Bomb’s away!” from the roost bar I hope

I got 4 eggs from an old flock but one of my pullets laid her first egg I'm so happy! Shes a white leghorn but she laid a tinted egg. Her name is Sugar

My Golden Comet girls seem to be on the every other day plan lately. One large egg yesterday and one medium size egg today. We shall see what tomorrow brings.
