How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Wow, what's up with your drama queens? 🤔 "Cabin fever" from the cold weather curtailing their outdoor fun? Protest-laying over the chilly conditions? (What goes on in the minds of chickens...)

My 8 girls gave me 4 eggs yesterday (Both Eggers greens, Jill's pink-blushed brown and another brown). Today it was 6! Martha's blue, both Eggers (the Rainbow Girls are so prolific!), another pink from Jill, Rhonda's big RIR brown (saw both on the nest while I was cleaning) and the golden-tan (PBR Xena, I think). Way to go, ladies! Despite spending so much time under cover with all our heavy rain...
Just the usual jealousy over someone using a particular nestbox so they must find a better location thus on top of the straw pile 😁 and of course then someone else must use that nestbox and so it goes hahaha.

That stinks. Do you at least like your olive egger? Is she barred? Pretty egg?

Today it was 6 degrees when I let the girls out. High of 20. They mostly seem unphased although I am definitely phased. 😂 Tomorrow is supposed to be around 32, and the high the rest of the week slightly above freezing. It will feel like a heat wave!
Oh, I like the OE. She was the first to develop a personality and when she developed her crown of feathers I thought she was molting but it stuck. She is barred, looks just like the others except for the hairdo. The egg varies from solidly olive to olive with brown spots. It was just a learning experience for me in that apparently you aren't 100% guaranteed to get what you order from a commercial hatchery...but that's been discussed at length in another thread. lol.

10 today. No more pecking after the big dose of Blu-Kote on my molter. Weren't they supposed to be more timid and less energetic when they go through this? Mine is still strutting her stuff like nobody's business 😒. The Emperor’s New Clothes Syndrome?

The other side looks way worse, I promise.
