How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Hi, I'm in NZ, I do take them to the market but not the farmers market. Over here, they're easy to get in to. Depending where you are, I would check Facebook for local markets and contact their page. Just ask if you have to book in or if you just show up.
Depending on the age of your kids, a parent will have to be with them at all times as per market safety worldwide.
You could also put a blackboard at your gate or end of the street saying 'fresh eggs ** metres on L/R'
I'm getting around 45-49 eggs from 7 girls per week, and 2 more due to lay in a few weeks.
As long as you keep the eggs in the fridge, they're good for up to 4 months.
I've had a few weeks off the markets, it's winter an I hate getting out of bed lol so the fridge is full. I'm going to freeze 5-6 dozen, they keep for 1 year, and will go to the Polytechnic around the corner from me on Monday to see if they need eggs for the cafeteria.

I made use of 2 dozen tonight, (dated 1st- 4th may) good ol' chili garlic baked sausages an egg mix for me an a massive roasted egg mash for the production crew.. doz eggs, basil, thyme, oregano, cinnamon & chili flakes... All antibacterial spices that really do cure pneumonia in chickens, plus yummies for all of them.. an a boost of taste an color for the yolks ;). Super gold color. Not only that, they're super yummy with the herbs, I eat some before adding to their mash :)
Sorry if I sound dense. Do you use the herbs fresh or is dry/powder/bottle spices ok?

Re: selling eggs
That’s interesting, here eggs can only be sold ‘commercially’ if they have been inspected by a govt certified inspector.

I am fine to sell eggs ‘at the farm gate’ here at home but I cannot sell off the property at a Farm Market or the like.

Also eggs cannot be bought from me by someone and then resold by them at a farm market.

There is a whole list of rules here for even me selling eggs: have to be washed , refrigerated, egg with hold number of days for meds given (varies by med). I can only have 99birds after that I must get an ‘egg quota’.

Very restrictive here all controlled by the big egg factory farms.

I was trained as Veterinary best was a old vet friend I was helping out.
He would smell the breath dog, cat or horse.
He had clyesdale horses beautiful.
My silkie chick has feathers on her legs like Clydesdale so I called her Clyde 😊

9 yesterday and 10 today.
I'm a bit on edge as the babies are now 10 weeks old and will be introduced to the flock tomorrow. I've cluttered up the run and will be hanging out with the ladies for the greater part of the day. Wish me luck! 🤞
I am sure they will be fine ♥️

I have my gang running together as soon as they can run and hide, usually at 5 to 7 days. My older hens and the Roos generally ignore them babies, but I have a little OEGB bantam Roo 2 months old who just glories in terrorizing the two week olds. ESP one of the grey ones who has white wing tips he loves to grab those wings and drag her around - it’s astonishing for me to see this as he is not much bigger than the 2 week old babies.

I had to stop him 4 times today, I finally had to give him a thump like a mama bird would. He stopped after that. I told him he better watch out in a couple weeks they would be bigger than him and they sure have great memories and can hold grudges!

OEGB bantam chicks almost 2 month as and my Americana chick she is just a couple weeks older than the bantams - they are so tiny!

Today I got 14 eggs - the one pink egg I thought was from my girl laying brittle eggs was not hers. She laid one at days end and it was still brittle 😞
