How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

only 5 today

A banded egg in the roost this morning, laid overnight. I expect I’ll see a thin shelled egg today or tomorrow. And at midday, there it is…a thin shelled, flat on one side egg.

8 yesterday, probably 8 today

but one was just pooped out on the poop tables perfectly clean and perfect in the morning LOL

I am *convinced* Jane or Ginger (it is one of the Jersey Giant eggs) just didn't want to get up from her cosy warm spot in the morning -- it was cold!! lololol

Also spy that GIANT cream legbar egg. Poor Harriet lololol

12 eggs, my silkie pullet who has just started laying not long ago, has decided ‘I am now broody - leave me alone’. Today’s egg from her will likely be the last one from her for a while.

I told her ‘give it up sister, no more babies!’.

None today! :)

Juin is four days out from laying… could this mean she’ll start molting soon? I’m probably going to knit her a sweater if she does, because the beginning of December is going to be frigid!

I also have a bunch of nekked ladies - so far it’s been mild but yes that comes to a screeching halt
Wednesday. Thankfully my barn is sheltered - if they get chilled I will put a hen apron on them.

Tis the season for snow ice and moulting chooks!
