How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Negative 1 lol.. Got side track and left the egg on the tractor Forgot and drove the tractor to go pick up an order of dog food at the main gate...
I've made the horrible mistake of putting the one and only egg in my coat pocket and then forgetting about it. It was disgusting to reach in to my pocket later and pull out my hand covered in raw egg. My dog loved it though!

Yesterday was a big day for me. I got 3 eggs, one of which was from Maggie, my miracle hen who was paralyzed early September. After about 6 weeks of intensive care we were able to start rehab, and by the end of November she was able to join the flock. I wasn't sure if she would lay again, but yesterday she surprised me with one of her beautiful blue eggs!

10 yesterday, 6 so far this morning

Big news, kind of a long story;

2 of my laying pullets are already "thinking" about going broody from time to time. They both will sit a nest for half the day, a couple times a week.

So I'm thinking, okay, come Spring those are my obvious suspects and it got me thinking; what if I let them hatch some eggs? So we have 3 cockerels that have a bachelor pad far away from the girls and we picked one, the smallest and calmest, to give to them yesterday -- our Easter Egger Chuck. He's very small, the size of a big hen, really. So he won't hurt any of our ladies.

Yesterday went really well - some of them told him to eff off, some of them let him mate and gave the acceptance ruffle. He had 0 issues going right to roost with them last night and this morning, everything was completely normal when I let them out. No 'tude from him. He just followed the ladies out as they did their normal thing.

Please send some of your sunshine to Queensland....how how this sentence does not sound right! Sunshine is Queensland....was
We are cloudy at the moment....
You need the Big Bad Westerly Wolf to huff and puff all that cloud away lol.
I hope it clears for you! It get's depressing after a week. I doubt the cloud is finished with us here.

No eggs yesterday or today, but we got a snowstorm here in West Georgia. The girls didn’t leave the coop at all yesterday, except I saw Goldie on top of their run for a short while. Today the big girls came out exploring, but only Bossy went back to the coop. I found Flossy in the ground by the rear wheel of my truck. Thankfully she was close enough to grab and carry back for the night.
