We also made a *massive* addition to our family!
Shade, a Border Collie from working lines -- but has very little drive, so we got her for a steal. She's also 'green broke' in the sense that she can 'here' (come) but that's about it, but just yesterday after a 1 hour drive home she learned to fetch and ignore the chickens.
She won't be off lead around the chickens probably not ever though, just to be sure. I don't want any accidents. Nope. Also, our property isn't fenced - just the pastures are. We are on 24 acres but yeahhhh no I don't trust dogs not to bug out if they suddenly feel like it.
It isn't like those farms where there are thousands of acres and it doesn't matter, I can SEE my neighbors cattle farm. NOPE, unless it's in a pasture, she will be on a lead.
I've got experience training dogs so I cannot wait to start working with her today!
Also my shipment of 2 Vorwerk, 2 Black Copper Marans and 2 Ayam Ketawa are currently OTW!!
