how can i afford them???
i have a full time job... AND i dont have children..
or any other expensive hobbies.. my animals are my life...
my dogs and chickens and horses ect are literally my "KIDS"
we go through hundereds of pounds of feed a week... probably 150lbs of scratch and 75lbs of lay crumble and ALL the kitchen leftovers..
we live in the desert so there is NO, zip, zero "wild" forage for them.. no grass,, no bugs,, no fallen friut,, no wild mushrooms,, ect..
they are worth it to me.. after a stressful day, just watching my chickens is a stress reducer.. so the more chickens the BETTER!!!!
I got 8 eggs from my 10 girls today. I have never gotten an egg from my 2 serama hens. My seabright laid her first today. It was the size of a golf ball. I was surprised from that little girl
I got 11 eggs today. I have 19 pullets, over 7 mo. of age, and one hen - not sure all the pullets lay and the hen is broody. So I will take the 11 eggs & be happy
